A scheduled news conference in Utah, which was expected to provide an update on the condition of injured Canadian halfpipe skier Sarah Burke, was cancelled Monday.

Family members, including Burke's husband, Rory Bushfield, met Sunday night with physicians to discuss the results of recent neurological tests and assessments.

"Based on the information they received ... they have decided to cancel (Monday's) press conference in order for further tests to be conducted (Monday) and in the coming days," the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association said in a statement.

Burke is in an induced coma after crashing last Tuesday during training on the superpipe at Park City Mountain Resort in Utah.

Burke went into cardiac arrest immediately after her accident, CBC reported Monday, quoting Utah hospital officials.

"The family wants to express its deep appreciation for the overwhelming support Sarah has received from all over the world," the statement said. "At the family's request, there will be no further updates today from Sarah's family or the hospital."
