BORMIO, ITALY - Canada's Erik Guay finished a close fourth at a World Cup downhill race in Bormio on Thursday, the third time for Canada's men's ski team this season.

The native of Mont-Tremblant, Que., clocked a time of two minutes, 2.45 seconds to finish just 0.22 seconds behind third place Klaus Kroell of Austria (2:02.23)

The Swiss recorded a 1-2 finish from Didier Defago (2:01.81) and Patrick Kueng (2:02.10).

"It's frustrating to be fourth but all in all, I had a pretty solid run," said the reigning world downhill champion. "It's a really, really challenging downhill this year. I feel like I could have taken some chances in different areas."

Calgary's Jan Hudec placed 23rd in a time of 2:04.28, while Ben Thomsen, of Invermere, B.C., and Louis-Pierre Helie, of Berthierville, Que., finished 32nd and 47th respectively. Whistler, B.C.'s Robbie Dixon did not finish the race.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
