Canadian freestyle skier Jennifer Heil ended her impressive career Sunday with a silver medal in dual moguls at the World Cup in Myrkdalen-Voss, Norway.

The 27-year-old from Spruce Grove, Alta., came in second to U.S. skier Hannah Kearney, but is leaving on a high nonetheless, having added another World Cup medal to her collection of 57 .

Over her 10 years as a national team skier, Heil earned an Olympic gold medal for Canada at the 2006 games and more recently a silver at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

Despite her many athletic accomplishments, Heil, who now lives in Montreal, told the press it’s time for her to focus on life off the slopes, “It’s not that I can’t do it any more or don’t have the passion, but this is the right time.”
