EDMONTON - Spruce Grove's legendary queen of bumps and jumps Jenn Heil will announce this afternoon that the last event of her career in Canada will be this weekend in Calgary.

I don't want to make a big deal of it, said the Olympic gold (Turin) and silver medal (Vancouver) medal winner, in a phone call from Calgary Tuesday morning.

I'll let it come out in the questioning at our press conference this afternoon.

Heil has won five Crystal Globes as World Cup points leader to match the record set by Ameri can Donna Weinbrecht, the 1992 Olympic gold medal winner.

It was Heil's fourth podium finish of the season. Three have been silvers and another a bronze.

She has 25 World Cup gold, 22 silver and seven bronze to go with her two Olympic medals - one gold and one silver - and two gold and two silver from the world championships.

She has three silvers and a bronze this season and has been unable to beat Hannah Kearney of the USA who leads second place Heil in the overall standings. Kearney won the gold last year in Vancouver.
