McCartney's ex makes disabled ski team

Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills is one step closer to competing in the 2014 Paralympic Games in Russia.

She has been accepted onto the British Disabled Ski Team this season.

The former glamour model, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident in 1993, has been training hard to enter the competition as a downhill skier.

Mills has previously proved her athleticism by taking part in U.K. figure skating TV series Dancing On Ice and her experience paid off -- she is now part of the British Disabled Ski Team and will be considered for the Paralympic Games.

She tells Britain's Daily Express, "I'm in the British Disabled Ski Team. I found out about six weeks ago and I'm very excited.

"Nobody is on the Paralympic Team until three months before those games. If you're lucky enough to get on the team, which I am, you get a trial for a year.

"We (the team) get on really well. I managed to get some sponsorship to help with equipment because they are unfunded so they're very happy."
