The firm of Brownlee & Brownlee has reopened their doors and returned to blowing the doors off everybody else.

The English running mates, brothers Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, are headed to the World Triathlon Series Grand Final in Edmonton ready to duplicate their 1-2 gold-silver finish at the Commonwealth Games here Thursday.

Only one problem with that.

For London 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Alistair and Olympic bronze medal winner Jonathan, the math doesn't work out.

Alistair missed so much of the year that he can't win the overall World Triathlon Series title even if he wins the Grand Final race.

The Brownlee brothers, who had a history of doing a lot of this 1-2 business before, haven't had their double barrel business going for a while now due to injuries. Alistair, whose 2012 gold earned him a knighthood, missed much of the first half of the season.
