Given that he was on the back of the great Secretariat for the most celebrated ride in the history of Belmont Park, Ron Turcotte qualifies as an authority in finishing off the Triple Crown.

And the long-since-retired Canadian jockey believes this year’s candidate, California Chrome, has the tools to become just the 12th winner of the elusive prize.

“I really love the horse,” the New Brunswick native said recently.

“I love the way he’s training and I really think he’s going to win the Triple Crown. I’d just love to see him win it all.”
