NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. - Chris Davis has never watched a Canadian Football League game and clearly, then, has never heard of Henry (Gizmo) Williams.

But you should have seen his eyes light up like last week's Christmas tree here on Friday morning when told how the play that instantly made the Auburn Tigers defensive back famous was once a near regular occurrence in the CFL.

Back in November, Davis shocked the world of four-down football, upended the always teetering Bowl Championship Series rankings and paved the way to Pasadena for his team.

His 109-yard return of a missed field goal allowed Auburn to dethrone No. 1 Alabama 34-28, a stunner that didn't just achieve instant classic status, but helped the then-No. 4 Tigers earn a date here to California for Monday's BCS title game against No. 1 Florida State.

"My life has changed a lot since that game," Davis said on Friday. "Every time I turn on the TV, I'm seeing that play. I get a standing ovation when I go into a class."
