The McMaster Marauders’ 19-game winning streak against Ontario opponents is over after the Queen’s Golden Gaels delivered a pick-six clinic to the Hamilton powerhouse.

Gaels defensive back Yann Dika-Balotoken, a Toronto native, ran back two Marshall Ferguson passes for long touchdowns as Queen’s (2-0) beat the two-time reigning Yates Cup champs 31-24 in front of 7,600 Monday in Kingston.

Dika-Balotoken made a great play for the first TD, as he caught a ball deflected by a lunging Marauders receiver and raced 99 yards to pay dirt to put Queen’s up 21-7 in the third quarter. Early in the fourth, the Don Mills Collegiate grad hauled in an errant pass and ran back 70 yards to make it 31-10. Queen’s, ranked second in the country, held on from there as the sixth-ranked Marauders’ comeback attempt fell a bit short.
