Canada's Dylan Armstrong was awarded the bronze medal in shot put at the 2010 World Indoor Championships, and an Olympic medal may also be in the cards.

The International Association of Athletics Federations annulled Andrei Mikhnevich's results dating back to August 2005 after re-testing a selection of doping samples collected at the 2005 World Championships.

Mikhnevich, from Belarus, is now banned for life by the IAAF.

Armstrong, of Kamloops, B.C., could now be in line for a bronze medal in shot put at the 2008 Beijing Olympics after finishing behind Mikhnevich by one centimetre.

It is now up to the International Olympic Committee to decide on the annulment of his Beijing result.
