The career of a pro-athlete is short, so once the word retirement starts creeping into conversations, they have to figure out what to do once they hang up their equipment.

Canadian mixed martial artist Georges St. Pierre was recently chosen to play Batroc the Leaper in the upcoming Marvel Comics adaptation Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s not his first foray into acting, but it is his first potential blockbuster.

He’s one of many MMA athletes who have gone from the octagon to the silver screen. But that’s not the only sport that’s seen its players go to don a different costume.
