Christine Nesbitt fifth after two races

Speedskater Christine Nesbitt sits fifth overall on Saturday at the World All-Round Championships in Hamar, Norway.

The Calgary resident won the 500-metre race and was 18th in the 3,000 metres, earning 81.621 points.

Regina's Kali Christ took sixth place and Winnipeg's Brittany Schussler was 10th. Schussler was the top Canadian in the 3,000 metres, taking ninth. Nesbitt was 18th and Christ was 19th.

In the men's draw, Regina's Lucas Makowsky is 17th overall with 77.485 points, while Alec Janssens, of Chilliwack, B.C., is 21st with 78.127 points.
