Canada earns another bobsleigh title By QMI Agency

It's back-to-back bobsleigh world titles for the Canadian men and women.

Lyndon Rush and Jesse Lumsden locked up the World Cup championship on Saturday in Sochi, Russia, after Kaillie Humphries and Chelsea Valois won the women's overall title on Friday.

Rush, of Humboldt, Sask, and Lumsden, of Burlington, Ont., finished tied for fourth in a test of the track that will be used at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

"I have always really wanted to win an overall title, and this feels great," the 32-year-old Rush said in a release. "Big thanks to Jesse and Lascelles (Brown) for the great starts and to all the members of the team that worked so hard for this all year. The Sochi track is awesome. Everything about it is big and impressive. It is by far the nicest facility on tour."

Rush teamed up with Lumsden and Brown to rack up two World Cup victories and four podium finishes.

Meanwhile, Brown teamed up with fellow Calgarian Chris Spring to a solid sixth-place finish.

In skeleton, Olympic medallist Mellisa Hollingsworth, of Eckville, Alta., led the Canadians with a 14th-place finish.
