Canada’s Olympic sweetheart, Mellisa Hollingsworth, was back on the skeleton track with hopes of a podium finish.

The two-time World Cup champion, and Olympic bronze medallist, placed fourth on Friday with a combined time of 1:48.19 on the 1,250-metre track in Konigsee, Germany.

It was Hollingsworth’s third and final top-six finish needed to be considered for the 2014 Olympic squad.

Noelle Pikus-Pace of the U.S. grabbed gold with a time of 1:47.51, Germany’s Marion Thees claimed silver with a time of 1:47.92, and Anja Huber, also of Germany, snared bronze in a time of 1:48.41.
