Oscar Pistorius, one of the most popular competitors at the London Paralympics, will play alongside several of the world's best golfers at the Dunhill Links pro-am event in Scotland next week.
The South African became the first double amputee to take part in an Olympic Games and also won two gold medals and a silver at the Paralympics.
"I am a big golf fan and love the game," Pistorius, an 18-handicap, said Friday.
"I have never played St Andrews, Carnoustie or Kingsbarns before so playing them in a world-class event is a unique opportunity. There is so much history at St Andrews, every golfer longs to play there."
The $5-million tournament is played on different courses the first three days with the final round on the Old Course at St Andrews.
Pistorius' compatriots Ernie Els, Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel will be among the pro golfers.
