World championship silver medallists Emilie Heymans of St-Lambert, Que., and Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., finished third Friday in the women's three-metre synchro event at a FINA World Series event in Beijing.

Heymans and Abel actually finished in a tie for second with Americans Kelci Bryant and Abigail Johnson but lost to them in a one-round dive-off.

Zi He and Minxia Wu of China won the gold medal.

In the women's 10-metre tower event, Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal was fourth, while Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., was sixth. Ruolin Chen of China won gold.

In the men's three-metre, Alexandre Despatie of Laval, Que., was fifth. Chong He of China won gold.
