Canada's best figure skaters will gather for the national championships in Mississauga, Ont., next year.
The 2013 Canadian championships are set for Jan. 13-20 at the Hershey Centre, the host venue for three Skate Canada International events. It will be the first time the city has hosted the national championship meet, though.
"We are looking forward to returning to Mississauga for another skating event," Skate Canada CEO William Thompson said. "The Hershey Centre and the Skate Canada Central Ontario Section have proven over and over again that they can host a first-class event. Our skaters will be in a venue they are familiar with and I am sure that will translate into a magnificent week of skating that will set many new Canadian records."
Mississauga last hosted a major figure skating event in 2011 -- the Skate Canada International. That event was also held in Mississauga in 2003 and 2000.
