Four World Cup medals for Canucks
By QMI Agency

Jonathan Versteeg of Vernon, B.C., recorded his first World Cup slopestyle podium finish with a silver medal Sunday in Stoneham, Que.

Versteeg finished second to Dimi De Jong of the Netherlands to highlight a good day for Canadians. Maxence Parrot of Bromont, Que., was third.

"I pulled it together for my second run, the course got a little faster so I was going deeper in the landing which gave me extra points," Versteeg said. "It was my first start at a World Cup so winning the silver medal is a pretty big deal for me."

Brooke Voigt of Fort McMurray, Alta., was second in the women's event while Breanna Stangeland of Calgary was third. Charlotte Van Gils of the Netherlands took the gold medal.
