Divers Alexandre Despatie of Laval, Que., and Reuben Ross of Regina captured individual men's three-metre spots for the 2012 Olympics with their performances Tuesday at the FINA World Cup in London.

Despatie was eighth and Ross 11th in the preliminaries and advanced to the semifinals Wednesday. They needed to finish among the top 18 to lock up berths for the Games.

"I want to hopefully come back stronger than I've ever been," said Despatie, a two-time Olympic medallist who is coming back from a knee injury. "I'm in great physical shape right now and I need to keep training hard.''

In the women's 10-metre tower final, Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., was fourth -- the best international result of her career.

Canada earned its two Olympic spots at the world championships last year as Filion and Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal finished in the top-12.
