Canucks take the lead

World champion Patrick Chan of Toronto and Olympic ice dance champions Tessa Virtue of London, Ont., and Scott Moir of Ilderton, Ont., were in first place Friday after their respective short programs in Paris at the fifth stop on the ISU Grand Prix figure skating circuit.
In pairs, Meagan Duhamel of Lively, Ont., and Eric Radford of Balmertown, Ont., were second after the short program. Jessica Dube of Saint-Cyrille de Wendover, Que., and Sebastien Wolfe of Terrebonne, Que., were fifth
