Legend keeps growing for Millar

OTTAWA - It never gets old for Ian Millar.
The 64-year-old Millar hasnít looked that far ahead, but with the 2012 Summer Olympics in London now less than a year away, itís difficult to ignore the fact heís on the verge of setting a world record with 10 Olympic appearances.
Millar, a member of Canadaís 2008 Olympic silver-medal team riding In Style, is already tied for the world record with nine trips to the Olympics and the Perth resident will set the record in jolly old England.
ďI really donít know what to think about it,Ē said Millar. ďSo often when youíre doing these things, itís all part of the journey and youíre concentrating on achieving the goal rather than stepping back and saying, ĎWhat would it mean and how do I feel?í
ďIím very proud to ride for Canada and very much appreciate all the support of our ownership groups, not to mention my daughter Amy and my son Jonathon. Itís just a very rewarding process.Ē
Millar noted he would have already attended his 10th Games if Canada hadnít boycotted the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.
ďIíve actually been named to the Olympic team 10 times,Ē said Millar.
