The Canadian U19 badminton team won the gold medal at the Ocean Spray Wata XX Pan Am Junior Team Championships in Kingston, Jamaica.

The third-seeded Canadians swept Guatemala 3-0 in the final on Tuesday, winning the mixed doubles, and the boys' and girls' singles matches. Brazil edged the U.S. 3-2 to win bronze.

In preliminary action, Canada defeated Brazil 3-2 and Guatemala 5-0 to take first place in its Group. Canada then downed Brazil again, 3-1, in the semi-finals.
