Cross county runner, deer collide during race
By QMI Agency

There are many documented cases of animal interruptions during a sports event, but very few include head-on collisions.

A Wisconsin teen had one such run-in in late October when she, quite literally, ran into a deer during a cross-country race.

Sarah Glidden, a sophomore at Hortonville High School, was near the finish line of her 4,000 metre race when a deer burst out of the woods and collided with her. Glidden managed to stay on her feet and suffered only a bruise to her leg from the ordeal and both she and the deer continued on their separate ways.

She failed to qualify for the state race after crossing the finish line 18th, but Glidden isn’t blaming the deer for her loss despite having finished 17 seconds slower than her previous time.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
