During any sporting event, it’s natural to have a rivalry. Even mascots are getting in on the act.
But the rivalry between Ohio University’s Rufus Bobcat and Ohio State University’s Brutus Buckeye went a little too far.
Just before their football game Sept. 18, Rufus came sprinting towards Brutus, punching and tackling him to the ground. Rufus was ultimately escorted out of the stadium.
Brandon Hanning, who was dressed up as Rufus, was banned from taking part in any of Ohio University’s sporting events.
Hanning has since apologized for his actions, but allegedly revealed that he wasn’t actually a student of Ohio University and that he just wanted one last shot at Brutus.
