Two Australian rugby players have been released after a "prank" in which they reportedly defecated on tables and floors in a Holiday Inn hotel room in North Queensland last weekend.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper says the two Sydney Rooster players are Sam Brunton and Anthony Gelling. They allegedly pooped on white tables in the room and on the floor beside the toilet.
A cleaner told the newspaper the scene was "absolutely disgusting."
On the team's official website, officials don't say exactly what the two players did to have their contracts terminated, nor do they name the players.
The release said the behaviour "started out as a prank, did not involve alcohol; however, the behaviour was unacceptable and the club saw it fit to take the strongest action possible."
The release said it was disappointing behaviour, especially as the team started the 2010 season with the mantra "new attitude."
