Pan Am track being shifted to Toronto
By QMI AGENCY

TORONTO - The track and field competition for the 2015 Pan Am Games is being moved from Hamilton to Toronto.

According to multiple reports, plans to hold the showcase event for the Games in the Steel City have been shelved in favour of Toronto. But organizers don't know exactly where in Toronto the competition, which requires a seating capacity of 15,000, will be held.

Original plans called for track and field to be held in a purpose-built stadium in Hamilton. Athletics Canada asked the event to be moved to Toronto after a deal with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the eventual tenant of the new facility, could not be reached, according to the Hamilton Spectator.

York University or a small stadium that hasn't been built are being considered by organizers.

Instead, it looks as though Hamilton will host soccer games during the Pan Am Games.
