Olympic hero hit by car
By PATRICK MALONEY, QMI Agency

Olympic hero Christine Nesbitt was hit by a car while riding her bike in Calgary, suffering a fractured right arm.

Nesbitt, the speed-skating star who won the 1,000-metre gold medal at the Vancouver Games in February, was reportedly struck Friday in Calgary while cycling home from a workout.

The London native announced the incident on her Twitter account, noting jokingly that she had "a surprise visit to the hospital" after being hit by a car.

"I guess I have a rest week now," she wrote.

Nesbitt later tweeted: "Doing everything I can to speed up my recovery, and lots of people are helping me, and taking care of me."
