Sprinter injured in crash

Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie has been treated in hospital after he was injured in an horrific head-on car crash.

The British athlete was travelling in his luxury Audi when it collided with a taxi in Buckinghamshire, England, according to The Sun newspaper.

Christie, who scooped gold in the 100 metres at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, staggered from the vehicle and collapsed on the ground, clutching his stomach.

He was taken to hospital and released after treatment following the crash earlier this month. Three men travelling in the taxi -- including the driver -- are still in hospital receiving treatment for their injuries.
