Shawn Greenfield earned more money in less time than anyone else.

The 32-year-old steer wrestler from Lakeview, Ore., earned a whopping $107,500 after working a mere 25.5 seconds over five days at the Calgary Stampede.

"I can't even describe it actually," he smiled, just minutes after winning his $100,000 bonus.

"It's unreal."

He almost didn't even get into the final four.Greenfield started off the long round yesterday twisting his steer in 4.3 seconds, splitting fourth place with Newkirk, Okla.'s Stockton Graves.

Thanks to the Stampede's tie-breaking formula, Greenfield got the nod via having a faster aggregate time out of his pool. Graves was eliminated.

"I cut it real fine," Greenfield said. "I didn't make that good of a run (in the long round), and I was actually a little mad at myself. I didn't even think I made it in, and then they said 'Oh yeah you made it back through the tie-breaker.'"

At that point, he took advantage of the situation, being the first man of the final four to compete.

"I was actually glad that I was first so that I could go put the heat on them."

He toppled a black steer in 3.6 seconds. He did have a slight advantage in that he'd drawn the same steer during his fourth run in Pool A.

"I was 4.2 on him that time. It worked out real good today, I shaved some time off him," said Greenfield, praising his hazer Blaine Pederson.

Ronnie Fields was second with a 4.2 second run, Mickey Gee third at 4.5 and Luke Branquinho took a no time.

Greenfield used travelling partner Lee Graves' horse, Jesse.

"He's probably the hardest-running horse going. The go he gives you is phenomenal. He's a winner, and that's all you can say about him."

So what will he do with the money?

"I've got two kids at home, so we'll put a little bit of that in an account for them for college" said Greenfield, who finished third in the world standings last year.

There were no huge celebrations planned for the newest member of the Stampede's $100,000 club last night.

"It's back in the rig and headed to Nampa (Idaho)."
