A Sherwood Park product, Alexis Baltimore played in her first international handball competition in France in 2001.

The 5-foot-6, 159-pound player, coached by Mike Nahmiash, Aklain Racine and Natalie Brochu, studied nursing at the University of Alberta and speaks both English and French as well as some Spanish. She's the daughter of Byron Baltimore who played in both the National Hockey League and World Hockey Association with the Edmonton Oilers.

She was born in Witchita, Kansas when her dad was playing in the Oilers' farm system. She's one of four Edmonton-area players on the Canadian team otherwise dominated by players from Quebec.
