Trainer Sid Attard admits he is nervous as the trainer of Queen's Plate favourite Jiggs Coz.

But his worries have nothing to do with the status of jockey David Clark, who is facing a series of charges involving the death of a Newmarket schoolteacher more than a year ago.

"I don't worry about it, it doesn't bother me," said Attard, whose colt is the 9-5 morning-line choice for Sunday's race.

TWO-TIME WINNER

"And I don't think it will bother him. His mind is right. I'm not worried about that."

Clark, a two-time winner of Canada's most important race, was reluctant to talk about the charges, which include impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death in an accident that took the life of 34-year-old Suzanne Mizuno.

"If you want to talk about horses, that's fine," Clark told Mike Strobel of Sun Media. "My private life has nothing to do with the horses."

Attard, a popular Woodbine horsemen, has been known as a nervous trainer. And the bigger the race, the tighter he tends to get wound.

"So far it has been good, but give it a couple of days," said Attard, whose horse will break from Post 6 in the nine-horse field. "I'll be a nervous wreck. I'll just have to keep working to stay busy."
