CALGARY -- The Canadian long track speed skaters competing in the World All-round Championship here this weekend are doing double duty.

In addition to skating in the season's second biggest event, next to the Olympics, they're helping to raise money for Right to Play, a charitable organization that helps needy children around the world get into sports.

A Team Canada jacket signed by the skaters and nearly every other Canadian Olympian is being auctioned off on e-bay, and is expected to raise at least $10,000.

"We decided we'd try to get a few signatures on this jacket, and see what happens," Lorrie Maffey, physiotherapist for the long track team and the brains behind the idea, said yesterday.
