Canada's sledge hockey team took an important step in their quest for a gold medal at next year's Paralympics with a 2-1 win over the U.S. yesterday at the Bell Sensplex.

Greg Westlake scored twice for the Canadians, who continue a three-game exhibition series against the U.S. tonight (7 p.m.) at the Bell Sensplex.

Tickets cost $5 at the door, with proceeds going to local charities.

Both teams are preparing for the Paralympics, being held March 10-16 in Turin, Italy.
