SOCHI -

After four decades of Olympic Games experience, Walter Sieber knows a little something about what makes for a successful Olympics.

Along with fellow IOC executive Dick Pound, Sieber is the most influential Canadian in international sports. The Sochi Olympics are the 22nd Games that he has been a part of, and according to him, "The Russians have done an extraordinary job. These are the best organized Olympics I have ever seen."

One of Sieber's jobs for the Olympics is to closely examine non-Olympic sports to see if they are deserving candidates for entry into the games. The Sochi games featured the debut of a dozen new sports.
