Top five things to watch at the Sochi Games on Monday:

FREESTYLE SKIING

Canada's Travis Gerrits will go for a medal in men's aerials on Monday. The 22-year-old from near Toronto will compete in an event that is slated to begin at 8:45 a.m. (EST) as scheduled, foggy weather notwithstanding.

ICE DANCING

Is the fix in? We'll see Monday at the Sochi Games when Canadian stars Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue will compete in the free dance portion of the competition. They enter it in silver-medal position behind U.S. rivals Charlie White and Meryl Davis, whose triumph in Sunday's short program drew widespread ridicule from journalists and veterans of the sport. Virtue and Moir won gold in the Vancouver Games -- can they repeat? The competition starts at 10 a.m. (EST) Monday.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY

Canada's powerhouse women's hockey team is back on the ice Monday at noon (EST) in the Olympic semifinals against Switzerland. There's little doubt it will be Canada-U.S. playing for the gold medal Thursday. But then again, as the old saying goes, that's why they play the games.

WOMEN'S CURLING

The round-robin portion of the Sochi tournament wraps up Monday, and the Canadian rink out of Winnipeg, led by Jennifer Jones, will try to close it out in perfect style. 8-0 so far at the Olympics, Canada is against Korea at 10 a.m. (EST). The semifinals are set for Wednesday and the medal draws are Thursday.

FOGGY CONDITIONS

Monday is a holiday for some Canadians, but unfortunately they'll be unable to watch a few scheduled events while relaxing at home. Warm days in Sochi have led to dangerously foggy conditions in the mountains, so at least two events, women's biathlon and snowboard cross, have been postponed until Tuesday.
