SOCHI, RUSSIA - Jennifer Jones drew her hand across her brow and gave a silent "phew" to the TV camera.

She and her Canadian teammates had just gotten away with one in a wild win over Great Britain to improve to 3-0 in the women's curling tournament at the Olympic Winter Games.

The Jones team from Winnipeg had a rough 10th end, with a flash by third Kaitlyn Lawes potentially setting up Great Britain's Eve Muirhead to potentially score three points for the win.

But Jones came through with a big double on her first rock and Muirhead bailed the Canadians out when she chose a risky triple takeout for the win instead of a safe draw that would have sent the game to an extra end.

"There was no time so I really didn't have a chance to look at the angle," Jones said Muirhead missed and gave Canada a steal of one for a 9-6 win.

Muirhead could have played an easy draw to the four-foot to tie the score at 8-8 and send it to an extra.

"It looked tough to me, but she's such a great player," Jones said. "If she sees it, obviously it was there and she makes them a lot of the time."

Muirhead, who was facing one of the best teams in the world and would not have had the hammer in the extra end, said she'd go for the win every time in the same position.

"I don't go for shots if I don't think they're there," she said. "I would try it every time because I thought it was there."

The Canadian men's team, skipped by Brad Jacobs, played Russia Wedneday night and won 7-4 to improve to 2-2 for the tournament. They play Denmark in their lone game Thursday.
