Canada’s men’s team is going to have a pretty simple approach when they open the Olympic hockey tournament against Norway Thursday.
“We don’t want them thinking tonight, we want them playing tonight,” said Canadian head coach Mike Babcock after Canada’s noon-hour day-of-game skate.
Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens will start in goal and will be backed up Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks.
Defenceman P.K. Subban and forward Matt Duchene will be the scratches against Norway, but Babcock said they will play Friday.
Canada went through their morning skate with the same lines they have used in practice.
Babcock tore apart his line combinations four years in Vancouver as the tournament progressed. When asked how much patience he would have with his line combinations Thursday, he said: “I don’t know. I’m going to watch."
