It is the land of late-night action and early-morning highlights for East Coast hockey viewing.

But for Canadian fans wanting to get a feel for the team headed to Sochi in a month, California might not be a bad place to start.

Each of the state's three NHL teams have placed a pair of players on the Team Canada roster announced by general manager Steve Yzerman and his staff on Tuesday, meaning close to a third of the opening-night roster could come from clubs based in the Golden State.
