For as long as he can remember, sports have always been a family affair for Travis Gerrits and that will be no different when he takes his high-flying act to Sochi next month.

Gerrits, a 22-year-old freestyle skier from Milton, Ont., who will compete in aerials at the Winter Olympics in Russia, has no intention of living this dream alone.

His brother Tyler, 20, with whom he learned the sport on their homemade aerials course in their back yard in Milton, is with him every step of the way, capturing the entire training and travel experience of the Olympic season on video.

“It really is special,” Travis Gerrits said recently. “I would normally never see my family very often. I’m probably home, cumulatively about one or two months in the year and to be able to be grounded with him here this year is very special. I’m just happy I can share that with him and the rest of the world.”
