The Olympic experience for readers of Sun Media newspapers and websites is about to get even better.

Sun Media, a subsidiary of Quebecor Media, has reached a partnership agreement with the Canadian Olympic Committee to become the COC's official national French-language media partner and regional French and English-language media partner.

It's a three-year deal which will allow Sun Media newspapers to provide readers with unprecedented coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, next February and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

"Our objective is to deliver all the excitement of the Games to Canadians by following their favourite athletes' every move," said Marcel Aubut, president of the COC. "That's why we're relying on the power of Sun Media Corporation's network. We're confident sports fans will be thrilled with its extensive coverage."

Sun Media will send a large team of experienced journalists from both Quebec and English Canada to Sochi and Rio to provide comprehensive daily reports, in-depth analysis and expert commentary through newspapers, websites and blogs.

That coverage can be followed in papers and websites across the country, including the Toronto Sun, Journal de Montreal, Journal de Quebec, Ottawa Sun, Winnipeg Sun, Edmonton Sun, Calgary Sun and London Free Press.

"We are very proud of this new partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee," said Robert Depatie, president and CEO of Quebecor. "I can assure you that we will be there to cover the performance of our Canadian athletes. We wish them every success at the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 and the Rio Games in 2016."
