Shall we call these London Olympics the 'Groin Games?'

A couple of incidents in the men's basketball tournament have been a bit over the top, or below the belt if you will, as bad blood boiled among national teams.

The latest incident involved Nicolas Batum of France, who fouled Juan Carlos Navarro of Spain by hitting him in the groin with a closed fist with just 24 seconds left in their quarter-final.

Batum was given an unsportsmanlike foul but was not kicked out of the game and Spain went on to win 66-59.

The ball was in the area when Batum took his swing so it could have been suggested it was accidental, but the French player didn't sound like his intentions were misconstrued.

"I wanted to give him a good reason to flop," Batum told reporters after the game.

This incident comes after American basketball star Carmelo Anthony claimed Argentina's Facundo Campazzo "jabbed him between the legs and ran away," on Aug. 6.

For his part, Campazzo claimed he got hit in the groin as well during the game and said he took a punch from American Chris Paul.
