A U.S. Olympian has been arrested after his common-law partner was assaulted, the Mounties say.
RCMP officers were called to the scene of what they're calling a suspected domestic assault in Whistler just before 11 p.m. PST Thursday, where a U.S. Olympic athlete — who police say is in his 30s but whose name wasn't released — was arrested and released on bail from a Vancouver court.
He is set to next appear in court on April 21.
The RCMP say they're recommending charges of assault and uttering threats.
