A Canadian athlete broke his clavicle in a crash while training Friday.
The incident, which officials with the Canadian ski cross team described as “heartbreaking,” happened while London, Ontario native Dave Duncan was in the middle of the first day of training for his event.
Duncan, who lives in Golden, B.C., suffered no other serious injuries and is set to undergo surgery in the next few days.
Taking his place in the ski cross is Brady Leman of Calgary. Leman will take part in Saturday’s training at Cypress Mountain.
