RICHMOND, B.C. — Denny Morrison of Fort St. John, B.C., probably Canada’s best individual medal hope in men’s speed skating, finished well back Wednesday in the men’s 1,000-metre event.
Morrison came across the line in 12th place, with still the best skater to go in American Shani Davis.
Davis didn’t disappoint, winning gold for the second straight Olympics.
Jeremy Wotherspoon, in the last Olympic race of his career, also finished well off the podium, along with Canadians Kyle Parrott and Francois-Olivier Roberge.
