Course proves painful for Vonn

WHISTLER, B.C. - American superstar Lindsey Vonn finally got on the slopes here on Monday and wasn't exactly beaming about her first impression.
Still nursing a deep muscle bruise in her shin, the multiple medal contender found the women's downhill course painfully hard in her first training run.
"The bumpiest course I've ever run on in my career," Vonn said. "Definitely not good for my leg."
Vonn was clearly still in some discomfort from the injury sustained in her last World Cup event. But the American believes it won't hinder her on race days, the first of which is Wednesday's women's downhill.
"I know I can grit my teeth and just do it," Vonn said.
