Vancouver is putting more than $1.1 million down the drain and up in smoke at its Olympic party zones.

City council is expected to rubber stamp $706,959 plus GST for Pit Stop Portable Toilet Services and $435,000 plus GST for Concept Fiatlux at Tuesday's meeting.

The website for New Westminster's Pit Stop said it rents portable toilets "also referred to as porta potties, porta potty, outhousees, johns, Johnny on the spot, port-a-let, go-can, jiffy."

Concept Fiatlux is a Montreal fireworks specialist that competed in the 2002, 2003 and 2005 Celebration of Light fireworks exhibitions in English Bay.

Premier Global Productions, meanwhile, is getting a $440,614 plus GST deal for staging and rigging. Vancouver is spending $18 million on the live sites at David Lam Park and the Larwill Park EasyPark lot.

Council is also expected to confirm a $147,500 consulting contract with Artefactual Systems to acquire digital assets for 2010 Winter Games archival project.
