CALGARY — It didn’t happen Saturday in Calgary.
Maybe it’ll be Sunday in Edmonton.
Despite taking the pre-game warmup, Anaheim Ducks star Ryan Getzlaf missed his second straight game with a sprained left ankle.
Getzlaf’s injury has made him questionable to play for Team Canada at the Vancouver Games. If he can’t go, Philadephia Flyers star Jeff Carter will take his spot.
Knowing Team Canada executive director Steve Yzerman wants to see him back on the ice, Getzlaf hopes to make it happen at Rexall Place.

“Ideally, we’d like to see him playing,” Yzerman said Saturday afternoon. “We don’t want to put any pressure on him to comeback before he is ready.
“Right now it’s in the medical staff of the Ducks hands. When they clear him to play and if that’s (Sunday), obviously we’ll be watching closely to see how he does.”
Getzlaf took part in the entire practice Saturday afternoon and said he is feeling better every day.
“We are moving forward and moving the way we wanted to,” he said.
“Things have been progressing the right way. (Friday) was good and (Saturday) was another step forward.”
