My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Please know that your fans in Canada are supporting you in whatever you decide to do. I lost my Aunt suddenly to a heart attack when she was 50, and my Mother at 63 so I know how devastating it will be for you over the next year. I'm glad that you have people there who have had similar experiences who will understand what you are going through. There will be times of grief, anger denial, and acceptance through your journey. I found having a grief councilor a great help in understanding what I was going through. Lean on those around you when you need to to get yourself through. I truly hope that you will skate but if not we LOVE you JUST THE SAME!

Being in the Olympics means you are out there for all to see, however, know that there are 33 million hugs for you as you put on a brave face and tackle your obstacles on the Olympic stage. Know that we are all there for you whatever the outcome. I lost 2 brothers and a father. It is never easy, but with the strength of those around us we pick up the pieces and carry on knowing that they are watching over us in spirit.
