"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." My thoughts, prayers, and sympathy go out to you Joannie and your family in this sad time... "If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring your mom back home again for you.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. My prayers are with you and your family in your time of grief.

People across Canada, and indeed, across the world stand with you in support. If you choose to compete, we will cheer your bravery. If you choose not to, that decision will be understood and honoured.

Sorry about mistaking your age - 24 instead of 22, but still much too young for this.
Gordon Saulnier, 2010-02-21 15:01:03

Hi Joannie,

I wish I could properly express my condolences to you, but nobody knows what you and your father are going through at this time.

My father passed away when I was 31 and my mother passed away when I was 43.

But, you're only 24 and it must be much harder to lose your mother at such a young age.

We are all rooting for you to do what you have to do and have you in our prayers.

Joannie, we are so sorry to hear about your mom. She must have been an awesome woman to raise a champion like you. Please know that you are in our thoughts and we are truly saddened to hear about your loss.
