The protesters in whatever form are the only part of the 2 week Olympic circus I am personally interested in. The coverage on CTV's News channel was fabulous, and I was as excited for the protesters as most of you would be watching your favorite team win in a lop sided event, which amounts to more than 90% percent of what you all refer to as "sporting events". Viva la protesters, they are the non conformist, civil liberty soldiers responsible for change, and this is because any true liberty requires struggle in many forms.

Olympic organizers should have seen this coming.

Bring in the army.

Time to get the water hoses out. Protesters that resort to violence do nothing for their cause. Arrest them. Page those cops as the airport. They know how to work a taser. Then take them to Nunavut and let them walk home.

And the cowards won't even show their faces...

We've all met losers like these people before. Get a life and leave the global community alone. Go Canada Go.

Read another news story quoting a spokeswomen for the group saying that damaging property she doesn't consider violence, what a crock! They are a group of violent idiots just out to do damage because they enjoy it, has nothing to do with protest. Arrest their sorry behinds, form them up into work crews and make them clean and repair the damage and fine them to pay for all costs including police and court costs. Totally tired of thugs who think they can do what they please and then decry the treatment they get when anyone stops and arrests them.

These people should be working at jobs, not running around, shouting and throwing bricks at places of employment. These terrorists have no class, no sense of decency and no cause. I wish the police actions WOULD be considered brutal- it would put a stop to the sheer idiocy that these twits put forth. Protesting is fine - I don't like it, but it's a facet of freedom. But causing damage to things that have nothing to do with what you are protesting about is terrorism, and these people should be tried as such. Then we'll see how these 'protesters' continue.

Our Police officers have children /wives/family at home. They coach sports etc. Protesters with their faces covered are terrorists. Hit them with everything you got.I'm Tired of these professional s..t disturbers..JJ

I believe in the right of free assembly, I believe that you have the right to let your viewpoint be heard. I believe the momemt you destroy public property you are to be thrown in Jail. I believe the moment that you infringe on others rights, you should lose the right to be able to protest. I believe that if you are within an organized group, and others destroy property, you should be included as a guilty asssociated member of that organization. I believe the moment your assembled group becomes violent that the police have the right to arrest you. I believe the moment the police are confronted with a mob that they MUST respond with appropriate force, if protesters get hurt it is unfortunate, but the police must be able to respond with force equivalent or stronger than the protestors.

I believe that protestrs who acted in the manner that they did in vancouver were looking for a reaction, and will try and bend the truth. I believe that people should not be sucked into their retoric.

I believe any protester arrested should not be released until the Olympics are completed (including the paraolympics)

I believe anyone who has to be arrested due to their violence should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
